The preparations have begun at Ingri Juu!
DECEMBER, 24 2017
From the Rev. Matheo Kide, Anglican Church of Tanzania. Parish of Ingri Juu.
How wonderful it is, how pleasant, for God’s people to live together in harmony!
It is like the precious anointing oil running down to the collar of Aaron’s robes.
It’s like the dew on Mount Hermon, falling on the hills of Zion.
That is where the Lord has promised his blessings.
These verses describe God’s people loving all people in their community without exception; without any discrimination. Through our partnership, which reaches from Ingri Juu Tanzania to Canadians in the far north, our Christmas Outreach Meals will help to sensitize us and remind us of the truth that loving sacrificial service is truly Christian worship. God loves all people, including those pagans who refuse Him. To those He sends us to love them. There are many who call themselves Christians yet live thinking only of themselves, their personal comfort and seek (even worship) their own happiness. Acts of Love speak, preach and teach us all about Jesus and being a true Christian in our lifetime.
“Come to me, all of you who are tired from carrying heavy loads, and I will give you rest.”
Jesus, we pray you will use us as your hands to comfort and your heart to love. Help us live this calling of Jesus Christ, seeing all people with burdens and heavy loads as people You love. In You there is no colors or race, denomination, tribe; only people You love in need of Your grace to salvation.
Jesus washed his disciples’ feet!
After Jesus had washed their feet, he put his outer garment back on and returned to his place at the table.
“Do you understand what I have just done to you?” he asked.
“You call me Teacher; have just washed your feet.
I, your Lord and Teacher, have just washed your feet. You, then, should wash one another’s feet.
I have set an example for you.
I’m telling you the truth: slaves are never greater than the one who sent them.
Now that you know this truth, how happy you will be if put it into practice!
Let our Christmas meals served in Love stretching from the land of northern lights to the African Serengeti remind us of Jesus and His acts. Let these Christmas Special Meals reflect through us the Light of the world. We thank God for uniting us this day - we pray for partnership and unity in His works.
Thank you Canada for joining us in this work. We wish you a blessed Christmas!
