What we Believe ...
The Church & God's call to Mission!
We believe God has provided some in His Church with material blessing so that it will turn them to God to ask "Father, why have You entrusted me with this?" God has set others in a place of need yet in fields ripe for His harvest, so that they will turn to God and ask "Father, how will this be done?"
We believe that when God's call is humbly and obediently heard and acted upon by each of these they become a miracle and a wonder and a work of God. Each encouraging and strengthening the other; each turning more completely toward God; each transforming more completely into the likeness of Jesus. We believe this is the interweaving and interworking Paul speaks of in Ephesians 4 and again in 1 Corinthians 12:26 when he says: "If one member suffers, all suffer together with it; if one member is honoured, all rejoice together with it." We are a single Body called in Love to radically and meticulously share all God has provided.
This is the Scripture that shapes our understanding of God's commission of the Church:
But how are they to call on one in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in one of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone to proclaim him? And how are they to proclaim him unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!” (Romans 10:14-15)
We believe we are responsible to encourage and support pastors, preachers and teachers with all that God has blessed the Church with. Christ followers must take this to heart.
