Living as Christ followers in 2024

ACrossMission continues to praise God for all He has done to make Himself known among His beloved people these last few years. Despite global challenges ranging from pandemics to wars to economic insecurity to climate turmoil, the Gospel mission to reach God’s lost people has persisted.

Every recent report on giving indicates that Canadian giving has significantly declined in this decade while costs escalate. Yet ACrossMission pastors working in the poverty and persecution of the “have-not” regions of East Africa have persisted in reaching out with the good news that God Loves His people and He sent His Son Jesus to point the Way home to Him.

It brings God glory and there is much joy in heaven whenever anyone returns to God[1] and because of His incredible Love for them they are received and their relationship to Him is completely restored.[2] This miracle occurs and recurs repeatedly as our pastors speak, live and reveal God’s Love in Gospel resistant villages. People constantly wonder why we go to the “hard places” where ministry is “unprofitable for pastors” and why we even care. We live for these questions because in them is the opportunity to teach about God’s Love and the more excellent way of living.[3]

In Canada we are given the opportunity by God to participate in the joy of this work by inhabiting the mindset of Christ and so prioritizing the eternal needs of the lost and suffering ahead of our own. This is the Way of Love[4] and the Way of the Cross[5] we are all guided to by Jesus. God has chosen to work through His people and how we respond, God says, is an indication of who we are before Him.[6] Times are tough and while the world turns inward, we, the Church are still sent out to reach the lost. With your help this work will persist even as societies and cultures rebel more aggressively against the Truth of Christ (as the Bible says it will).

Thank you for your prayers and your financial support of this mission to God’s people.

We ask you to please consider embracing new and increased giving opportunities towards God’s work in 2024 [7] Look around this site, see what God is doing, pray and embrace one of the opportunities to be part of God's work in Tanzania.

ACrossMission continues to pray for all who join us in this work and for you as we enter the year of our Lord 2024.

Be blessed…

[1] See Luke 15:1-10

[2] Ephesians 2

[3] 1 Corinthians 12:31-13:13

[4] John 13:35 cf John 15:13; 1 John 3:11-16

[5] Luke 9:23, 14:27, Mark 8:34, Matthew 10:38, 16:24, Galatians 2:20

[6] This is a hard saying for many of us. See 2 Corinthians 8 especially 8:8; John 3:16-21, 13:35, 15:13, Philippians 2:1-11, Matthew 7:15-23 – it really is hard to avoid this in Scripture.
